
Repeat Prescriptions
- Repeat prescriptions are normally for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment.
- We encourage patient to register with NHS App to order repeat medication as you can monitor progress of your request
- You can order a repeat prescription online using Patient Access or by submitting the green slip at the back of your prescription - we do not take requests by phone at the surgery.
- If you do not have access to NHS App or your medication are not on repeat prescription you can contact us via Accurx using the Medical Non-Urgent Request option. You do not need login and you can order medications that are not on repeat prescribing.
- Please provide the exact drug names wherever possible.
- Please allow 2 working days after submitting your request before collecting your prescription from the surgery or your chosen chemist.
- Your doctor will review all repeat prescriptions regularly.
- Patients with some chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and asthma will be seen regularly for monitoring of their condition.
- Please tell us of any changes to your repeat prescription list made at the hospital or if you stop any medication by yourself
- Do not stockpile unwanted drugs at home – return them to your chemist
Questions about your prescription
If you have questions about your medicine or your prescription please contact your pharmacists. You pharmacist can answer any questions about your prescription. They can answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
Prescribing of over the counter medicines is changing. Your GP, nurse or pharmacist will not generally give you a prescription for over the counter medicines for a range of short-term, minor health concerns. Instead, over the counter medicines are available to buy in a pharmacy can offer clinical advice to safely and effectively manage minor health concerns.
