If you think you may be neurodivergent (ADHD and autism) initially we ask you to undertake screening questionnaires below. Once submitted we will get back to you to inform you whether a further assessment may be indicated.

If further assessment is indicated then there are two ways in which you can be referred for an assessment for austim or ADHD. You can either be referred locally where you are seen usually face to face by the local neurodevelopmental team. Or you can choose from several remote providers. This scheme is called "Right to Choose". The waiting time for these tends to be shorter than the local team. Please read about the providers carefully and choose wisely. Some will do a diagnosis but if medication if recommended that has to be done privately which will come with a cost. The shortest wait time may well not be the most appropriate provider for you. Some people also seek a private diagnosis. You are welcome to do so but please be aware once you have a diagnosis made privately you cannot be referred through the NHS to a neurodevelopmental team as you already have a diagnosis. This means that if treatment is recommended it would have to be done through the private provider. Often they start the treatment and once on a stable dose we can usually take over the prescribing. This is an important conisderation to take into account when deciding whether to seek a private diagnosis.

Once you have chosen a provider please get in contact with us. We will then send you a referral form for that particular provider for you to complete. When completing please do so with a much details as possible to ensure your referral is not returned.
